The BLMTB Purpose

The purpose of The Business League for Massage Therapy and Bodywork (BLMTB), a not-for-profit organization, is to act as an advocate for and promote the furtherance of the profession of massage therapy and bodywork and to promote the common interest of the massage therapy and bodywork community in all of its diversity regardless of organizational affiliation and training.

To that end, the BLMTB will:

  • Advocate for fair practice standards in the profession, regardless of organizational affiliation and training,
  • Advocate for what will best preserve the diversity of the profession, while maintaining educational standards,
  • Advocate for the enactment of laws, within the provisions of section 501(c)(6) of the IRS Code, to advance the common business interests of the profession including those that preserve what is commonly accepted in the industry as the full scope of practice of our profession,
  • Provide membership opportunities so that like-minded professionals can have their voices heard in a unified manner, and
  • Provide information as unbiased as possible so that industry practitioners can make informed decisions.
